Parent & Student FAQs
How Young Do You Take Students?
For violin lessons specifically, we suggest the student be no younger than 5 years old. We highly suggest that students ages 3-5 take our Mini Musicians Classes before jumping directly into violin lessons. Students younger than this should be enrolled in our Tiny Tots Club. Both of these classes prepare young students to be able to approach formal violin lessons at age 6 with greater ease and success!
Do You Allow Make-Up Lessons?
Yes! As long as we have at least a 24hr notice of a lesson cancellation, that lesson is eligible for scheduling a make-up!
Do We Have to Have Our Own Violin For a Trial Lesson?
No. But you do need your own violin for regular lessons every week. For just a one-time lesson, a student can share with the teacher.
What is Your Availability Like?
We teach lessons throughout the whole day, according to student needs. So we potentially have lesson time slots available any time from 8am to 8pm. You will see what time slots teachers have available when you click for a trial lesson since trial lessons are scheduled in what are currently weekly open slots to be claimed by a new student.
What Should I Expect Once I Register?
You will register with a teacher and a time slot through an Opus account when you click “Register for a Trial Lesson Today!” button. Then you just show up for the single slot you paid for!
Watch out for your confirmation email to come through and if you need to cancel, you can do that through your Opus account as well!
Tuition
Our tuition is a flat rate of $175/mo for weekly, half-hour, private lessons. This doesn’t fluctuate when there is a holiday or an extra fifth lesson-week in the month. We keep it simple!
Our Violin Lessons Are Dedicated to:
An Emotionally Safe Space
We provide a safe environment for those who are shy and those who are bold, to come in wherever they’re at and to grow towards self-awareness and confidence.
A Customized Experience
Our lessons are customized to each student according to every students’ personality, learning styles and goals. We do prefer to teach traditional methods over non traditional methods such as Suzuki, although we might incorporate Suzuki methods with some of our students.
A Wholistic Approach
We believe that music lessons should not only be focused on the musical technic of the instrument being studied, but as a wholesome experience of mind and body combined.

Since music lessons have the power to address the whole person, it is therefore a wholesome experience of mind and body combined. That being said, our approach to teaching music is to emphasize the development of personal self-awareness, confidence, and expression to the health and wellness, as well as to the music education, of our student community.
Have More Questions For Us?
How are Self-Awareness, Self-Confidence, & Self-Expression Emphasized in Violin Lessons?
Body Posture
Consciousness of good and proper posture is required when playing music.
That being said, our violin lessons foster self-awareness. Awareness of how one currently carries their body versus the training of how one should carry the body. That is, tall and open. This practice of posture is a life skill that will carry over into a student’s everyday life.
Body Tension
Our violin lessons help develop an awareness of when and where the body holds tension.
Body tension is every musician’s enemy when it comes to developing correct musicianship and technic.
For example, along with a lot of shoulder, arms, and hand tension, even holding one’s breath when nervous or concentrating is equal to holding onto body tension. Therefore, learning to keep the body and breathing loose and free keeps one’s body mindful and stable.
Emotional Intelligence
Violin lessons can assist in developing the awareness of how one’s body reacts when under social anxiety or stress.
We help identify where one’s mental and emotional stress comes from. We coach on how to practically navigate through these feelings and how to self-analyze one’s emotions in order to acquire a more balanced mindset.
Self-Expression
Our music school is a safe space where students can self-analyze and express their feelings and creativity through their music. For example, we teach students, “Every feeling is in a note, every note is beautiful, and every note counts.”
Self-Vulnerability
Our violin lessons help develop students with self-vulnerability, also known as bravery! We develop our students beyond simply self-awareness and the stress of social as well as performance anxiety through actionable steps. Self-Vulnerability is the courage to take those steps.
Here at Martucci Music, our motto is: It’s more than just music here. It’s a commitment to “Self”.
Again, our approach is developing personal awareness, confidence and expression through music lessons.
